Kichijoji has many indoor places close to the station. When it rains, it is quicker to decide how to choose than to list everything. We do not give other businesses' hours or prices here, because we cannot check them ourselves.

Three ways to choose

How far from the station? In the rain, a five-minute walk feels much longer. Start with places a few minutes away.
Do you need to book? When it rains, people move indoors, and walk-in places can fill up.
Can children come? Age rules differ from place to place. Check before you go.

Kinds of indoor places

Shopping — around the station there are shopping buildings and covered shopping streets where you can walk without an umbrella for part of the way.
Films and exhibitions — fixed start times make it easy to plan around the rain, but you may have to wait.
Cafes — Kichijoji has many. On rainy weekends seats fill up, so it helps to have a second choice.
Places to meet animals — indoors, so the rain does not change your plan. Please follow each place's rules for the animals.
